World Production of Natural Rubber for 2014 is estimated to be 20.2 M Tonnes. Consumption is expected to be 19.2M Tonnes. Which will leave a deficit of 1M Tonnes. The US, China & Japan dominate the global rubber consumption by accounting for more than half of the world market & will continue to do so.
India’s Natural Rubber production is estimated to be 1.50M Tonnes making it the 3rd largest Natural Rubber Producer in the World. Consumption for 2014 is expected to be 1.6M Tonnes which is further estimated to increase to 1.86M Tonnes by 2018. This will result in a deficit of 750,000 MT per annum.
Rubber in India is produced in Kerala State (South India) and Tripura(NE India). Kerala Accounts for 85% of India’s production.
